Flinders Ranges Tour & On-Farm Stay

Your Tour Itinerary
Tours depart on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The First Day
We will pick you up from your preferred accommodation and then drive 200km north of Adelaide, going through the beautiful Clare Valley wine region, and arriving at Hornsdale Farm approx 5.30pm. On arrival we will all enjoy pre-dinner nibbles and a drink before dinner while watching the sunset over Hornsdale Farm.

Day 2
You'll rise early on the farm, to the unique noises of the farm animals, singing birds and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. We will then drive you to Wilpena Pound where we will do our morning exercise, of either going to the rim of the Pound or an easy stroll into the middle of the Pound. We'll return to the  Pound camp ground for a BBQ lunch, and in the afternoon, take a drive to Stokes Lookout and then through the geological wonders of Brachinna George. Then we'll go on to the Yarrowie Hotel in the small farming town of Appilla for pre-dinner drinks, before heading back to Hornsdale Farm for another wonderful night of hospitality and fun.

The Return Trip
We'll have you on board the bus at 8am to return you to your accommodation in Adelaide by 11am, where the tour will conclude.

Optional Extra Activities

  • Take a scenic drive to the top of Mount Njadjari and see sensational views over Hornsdale Farm.
  • Have a pre-dinner drink at the Yarrowie Hotel in Appila.
  • Observe farm life activities such as shearing, seeding/planting and harvesting.
  • Star Gazing
  • Whip cracking

About Tom

Your tour Director, Tom Noonan, grew up taking holidays at Hornsdale Farm and so loves bringing guests home to experience and enjoy life on the farm. Growing up next to the Flinders Ranges, he has a unique knowledge of the area which he shares with guests.

Tom joined the tourism industry in 2000 as a tour guide and has travelled on and hosted many different tours in Australia, including Alice Springs to Darwin, Alice Springs to Adelaide, Adelaide to Melbourne and Adelaide to Kangaroo Island, taking in such beautiful sights as Katherine George, Uluru, the Great Ocean Road, Kangaroo Island, and the beautiful Barossa Valley.
